I have just started this process as executor for my husband’s estate.
i hold an account with his main bank so ID was easy. I opened a new account with this bank for the purpose of holding money for the estate.  It took about three weeks to receive a transfer in, after uploading the death certificate.
Other banks will require probate. They all have their own rules.
    I have Grant of Probate.

True, but those that don’t require probate will vary in how long they take once you have satisfied their rules, so there is no definitive answer. Lloyds have now transferred funds to me. This was within the 30 days stated, about 21 in fact. Another bank wants a certified copy of the will. Another wants Probate.
