Renting: Can I complete application forms prior to viewing the property?

I think the title says it all really.
Rather than view a property and lose out to other people, can I instead complete 10-20 application forms for properties that tick all the boxes, and then view the property after I've been accepted?

You will probably find that most letting agents/landlords wont accept you until you have viewed the property.1
