Bona Vacantia over 4 years ago, any advice appreciated.

My company was dissolved in 2019 after I failed to submit accounts. I had stopped trading but failed to close down the company properly and moved country so didn't know until my account was seized in Bona Vacantia.

Around the same time I had an illness and couldn't deal with it which seemed complicated at the time. Since then life has been difficult mentally, I tried to receive some support from friends but I really need to do it myself.

The amount in my account was over 10k and I owed half of that as tax at the time.

Bona Vacantia advised that I can reinstate the company with Companies House but will have to pay 3k in late filing charges as it's been 4 years. On top of that administration charges and the crown will take a percentage of the amount taken from the account.

I don't have the money to pay all the charges to reinstate the company, but I can probably borrow ahead of hopefully freeing up the money in my account. Filing for bankrupcy I've been told isn't a good idea.

I could apply to appeal the charges under the excuse of ill health but not many of these appeals are successful.

Does anyone have any advice as how I could solve this issue with minimal costs?

I have been told that I could apply for a court order. Does anyone have any experience in this?

Is it worth the time and effort for about 2K (estimated on your figures)?

I'm not saying that isn't a lot of money but it won't be a simple process to do.
