If you are a British citizen, you have the right to travel and work in the Irish Republic without any special permission or documentation. UK and Ireland are both members of the Common Travel Area, which pre-dates the EU and is ubnaffected by Brexit.

But If you're not a UK citizen, you're subject to EU regs.
I guess it depends what you mean by "machine". Something that fits in the boot of the car should be OK, but a combine harvester may be different.0
