To be honest I think its a fair comment. I'm struggling to read your messages and understand what you're trying to say. May be not phrased very well, but correct message trying to be sent.

Ah,  I think you may have given us an idea of why your colleague may be paid more !
Employment rewards aren't always just about experience -  attitude can count too.

But you could try doing  what I did earlier this year. I sat down with one of our directors and asked if there was anything I needed to do,  to get a bit more salary.  I told him I was disappointed by annual rise (4%),  and I'd hoped for more.  I explained why I thought I was worth more,  and in my case I was able to point out how much revenue I generated for the company  -  I know not everyone can do that.

2 days later,  I was told my rise had been doubled.

I STRONGLY advise that you don't say   "X gets paid more than me,  I want more money"  !!

I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say. :)

Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

Don't value yourself by other people being worse off/getting less.

Spam or no spam, how is it that people know what salary their colleagues are receiving?

I never knew what my colleagues were getting and never told them my salary when I was employed. It was just never done.

    If I wasn't happy, I left.
