Hi all, I need some more advice from the experts if I may! I parked in a loading bay genuinely to unload goods to a shop in a town. I was driving a saloon/coupe at the time and I recieved a parking ticket. I responded to it by stating I was genuinely unloading but the council have come back and said the ticket stays because my vehicle was not considered a "goods vehicle" there is signage saying its for goods vehicles but my thick self thought this meant anyone using a vehicle for the carriage of goods I didn't realise it meant a commercial vehicle.
My question therefore is there anyway round this? I do believe they didn't give any grace period bit are they required to? Is there anything else I can do to challenge it or do I just accept the £70 charge?
Oh and can I get it reduced back down to £35 which is what it was if I paid within 14 days?
Thanks in advance
Rob

Have they not offered the £35 again?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Should I reply back and ask for the £35? Also is it worth me asking if there was any grace period?0 -

They'd have re-offered the £35 if you'd appealed within 13 days. You can't get it if your appeal was made on day 14 or later and the rejection letter didn't offer it.
However, now you are at £70 stage you may as well do the 3rd stage - adjudication. Costs you nothing, risks nothing more than eventually being told to pay £70.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
