Parting of the Ways from EDF

Have just left EDF and moved back to Octopus for dual fuel supplies to main residence.
No real complaints to speak of but no particular praise either. Six month timescale between bills is not really satisfactory even though you maintain your own spreadsheet. It is always comforting to be able to validate your calculations by reference to the suppliers bill or statement. This is sadly lacking with EDF and a flawed calculation in any one cell or typo can easily cause a consumer to be surprised when the six monthly bill is actually issued.
Hopefully will get back to monthly billing with Octopus and opportunities to pick and choose a variety of tariffs from 1 July (oh plus 2 spins of the Wheel of Fortune every month).

I always get 3, after doing the one for the electricity reading, I get another try. Then one for the gas reading. Only ever won a total of £2 in 2 or 3 years.inspectorperez said:(oh plus 2 spins of the Wheel of Fortune every month).0 -
The rules say three spins for a smart meter customer but I've never had three. Hmm.TadleyBaggie said:

I wouldn't choose EDF if all things were equal as their billing method is awful. However, their extremely low cost wins the day for me and I monitor our use and can put up with their methods.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I would say in general EDF are ok. If you are on their budget/fixed Direct Debit then the six month billing cycle is annoying, but on variable that does not matter. For those with E7 they do offer the cheapest night rate in almost all regions and in some regions it is incredibly low, so for those who can load shift the savings can be large compared to other suppliers.1
