Breakdown Cover Dynamo

Just wanted to inform people of the hidden charges when taking out breakdown cover with Dynamo Insurance, they may offer you a good deal but be careful with mid-term increases and then if you don't renew with them they will charge you for leaving. Please avoid this company at all costs.

I agree - Do NOT use this company.
I was stung with mid term charges which were buried deep in the Ts and Cs - lesson to read them properly! and also they charged me extra for some admin error plus an admin fee half way through PLUS if you take the discount on the first year you are locked into an autorenewal the next year (anyone's guess how much that will go up by) and if you cancel there is another admin fee - so I tried to cancel the policy completely and found they have already charged me for the admin error - I am £££ down and have nothing to show for it. Hate to say it but stick to the big names for breakdown.2 -
I'm just going through this. I think because I paid by a card on the initial payment, and had a replacement card since, they were unable to take it from my account.
I don't know what the legal process is for this. As they have recently asked me for £51 to automatically renew.

This company appears to just not be able to offer correct information on their website or proper functionality on their website. They are awful. They are saying that they offered me a £7.50 discount in return for agreeing to signing up for a second year. This was not clearly explained to me at the time. I always look in detail at all small print. So I have to pay £7.50, and that's fine.
However in order to cancel the autorenewal the only option on their website was to pay a £15.99 cancellation admin fee in addition to the £7.50. However I've just checked my credit card and they have charged me the £7.50 twice, once as a one off, plus again as part of the non-renewal cancellation. So I've been charged £30.49, of which only the £7.50 discount charge makes any sense! The website says there is a phone number available, but it is just an automated message and the website link listed on the automated message wasn't even correct.
I have emailed them again to ask them to explain as it does not make sense to me at all.Indecision is the key to flexibility2 -
I have exactly the same horror story. Having initially paid a reasonable premium for 2 car cover, they have taken additional payments claiming the car is now a year older than when the policy was taken out and despite the fact that I am pretty sure I didn't save my card details. Now there seems to be no way of getting out of the auto renewal which I don't think I opted for either, unless i pay significant charges. They don't answer the phone either. Please, please please, avoid at all costs. I've cancelled the credit card they used in a desperate attempt to recoup something.1

Now I see this thread.
I did note they helped themselves to another £20 mid-year but looking through my credit card statement realised the £80+ taken was an auto-renew. No worries I thought, I have 14 days to change my mind. Not so, they send you advice 21 days in advance and after the start date it costs to remove yourself from the policy. I have made a mental note to cancel it before it automatically renews next year.
I think I was offered Dynamo through a comparison website. I shall go back to the same and ask them to reconsider the rating. Defaqto too.No man is worth crawling on this earth.

The problem is the sums involved are so low that its not worth pursuing. For Dynamo its a numbers game: suck people in en-masse and laugh all the way to the bank. What I really object to is the company extracting more from me without my consent - time to have a word with my credit card provider. No man is worth crawling on this earth.

Belt and braces, I went into the portal and cancelled:
A two-sentence auto-response has been received: "Your cancellation request has been processed. You do not need to do anything further but please keep this email for your records.".No man is worth crawling on this earth.
