Recycling double glazed windows

Given how pricey it is to get double (or triple) glazed windows, I was wondering if there is any value at all in recycled glass from double glazed windows?

If so, that helps offset some of the cost when upgrading

As far as I am aware, there is no value at all.

There is a nominal value for the glass as a recyclable waste material. It may be possible to find a buyer for whole windows if you can find someone wanting to build a shed or similar outbuilding. It would be highly unlikely that the old windows would have the thermal performance of new, so couldn't be used to replace existing windows in a refurbishment (not if you wanted Building Control approval).
If you don't want to be dealing with prospective buyers, just leave the installers to dispose of the old windows - Just don't get sucked in to believing marketing BS from the likes of Anglian with their scrappage "schemes".

When I had new double glazing my neighbour take advantage and double glazed his shed & summerhouse with my old windows ! The only advantage that I can see is that the windows in his shed look exceptionally smart and have probably increased the value of his estate.

The glass itself doesn't really have any value, but second hand windows do. They are often for sale on ebay or marketplace. When I had to replace the one in my workshop I found a second hand one for about £250 less than a new one would have cost

My neighbour sourced some coming from a neighbours house and made a lean to greenhouse with sliding doors.
It kept heat in and cold out brilliantly.
