FLIGHT MISBOOKING

We booked a flight with Norwegian Airways from Riga to London Gatwick via Stockholm in January paying Booking .com
When we were due to fly we were told by Norwegian Airways that the Riga to Stockholm flight schedule had been amended in January and the flight booked did not exist. They said it was Booking.com's error and they needed to resolve it
Multiple telephone calls to Booking .com to alert them to this problem met with the response that they were trying to resolve the problem with the airline but no solution by the time we needed to return to UK.
We thus were forced to rebook on another Airline.
We have claimed a refund from Booking.com plus compensation for the extra expense but they state Norwegian airways must authorise a refund and they are not liable for any compensation.
Norwegian blame Booking.com and vice versa
Grateful for any advice at how best to pursue this claim.
