Wren - want a 10% deposit to secure a 'good deal'

My friend is a brilliant kitchen fitter and runs his own business fitting kitchens for a local independent kitchen company. However most of his work actually comes from fixing badly fitted Wren and Howdens kitchens and it's so profitable for him he is seriously considering only doing this type of work in future.
Personally they are 2 companies I wouldn't touch and ypu'll find a local independent will be no more expensive and will in most cases be cheaper0 -
I've never heard of a positive wren kitchen installation yet. all the gripes seem to be about the sub contractors they use that come from miles away (we are very rural) , I've heard this so many times, they apparently always do 95% of the work and then promise to come back next week to finish but want payed straight away, guess what, they never come back.
It's very similar to Howdens really, all they are interested in is selling you the kitchen, they don't care about any snagging issues later on.
I'd go with a local independent company, at least you know they will always be there to sort out any issues0
