Washer e02 error and Flooding

Hi,

My Hoover washer has flooded. The error code suggests it’s to do with it not getting water. Obviously the water supply is fine as it’s all over the floor! The fill pipe is secure etc, so I think it may be to do with the fill valve (I think that’s the right term).

My question is, would it actually flood if it was a faulty fill valve or does the flooding suggest something else please? I’ve tried Googling but not getting anywhere.

Thank you!

Is the drum full of water? I think it's the only way water can get out to the floor. If so, I think it's some water level sensor that is faulty - it falsely indicates that there is no water and the controller keeps filling the machine. And this explains the error code.

Thanks @grumbler It’s hard to tell as the door is black. I’ve shone a torch through it and it’s definitely not full of water but it’s hard to tell if the washing in it is wet though. The laundry liquid hasn’t been diluted as I can see the colour of that on the stuff (white bedding) that’s in it. I also can’t get the door open as it didn’t finish its cycle.

<Also, (off this topic), I know you helped with my bath panel issue…the fabric and grab glue worked!! Thank you again. I’ve just filled the crack on the front side with some bumper filler and going to paint it shortly.>

Just checked again as I can open the door now. The washing is all wet, but not sopping.

Hole in the drum? Water coming in but the level in the drum isn't going up (because it's going all over the floor) so it thinks it needs more water.

That could be a possibility too. Not long ago it started moving itself mid cycle across the utility every now and then, and I now wonder if the drum is loose and it’s been damaged.

It moved once before a while ago, but not as far and not long after we’d had a clear out where it had been moved, so I assumed it just needed levelling again. Lately it’s been very noisy and banging a bit too. Sounds like it might be a drum issue at least with that bit. Might just take the hit and order a new one. We’ve had this one a good few years.

    Thanks for your input.

If you need a new one have a look at AO outlet on eBay, you can get some good deals on there for customer returns/display items.

Or on certain new Bosch machines they are offering a 5 year warranty and a years supply of washing liquid
