Morning allThanks NMLC for starting us all offLooks like another lovely day today, shame I'll be spending it in work! It's nice to come home and sit out in the garden for an hour or so to wind down though. No cooking last night as it was our wedding anniversary so we went out for something to eat at a chain restaurant which is by a river so it was a lovely evening for a stroll afterwards.Smoked haddock for dinner tonight.Hope everyone has a good day and {{hugs}} for all those needing one.10

Morning All
Lovely and sunny again this morning, enjoying some cooler air with the windows and back door open. When I left work yesterday the car temperature guage said it was 31.5 degrees, too hot to do anything much. Thankfully I had closed the blinds at the back of the house so it wasn't too warm inside. I did a bit of sitting in the garden reading until 7.30 alternated with sitting inside.
Shopping on my way home to Iceland, will save Aldi until later in the week. I'm only fancying salads at the moment so not much to buy.
The DW has been on this morning as I forgot last night and I've done the bit of ironing that has been hanging about, can't face doing it when it's really hot.
Hope you had a good trip on the sleeper Gers - I went a while ago to London on the sleeper and was so excited I couldn't sleep!
Glad your OH is better taff, such a scary episode.
Your help didn't last long Izzy!
Hoping yesterday wasn't as accident filled Nanny.
Welcome back TA, sounds like a very relaxing week for you.
No washing to do today, the bedding was done yesterday and the bed re-made - I didn't put the quilt back in the cover as i've been too warm at night, last night was perfect.
Have a good day, take care. XX11 -
Morning all - from a train tunnel just outside Euston Station. Probably not moving again until arrival time of 7.30. 🚂The cabin is certainly dinky but everything needed is in it. The en-suite is the biggest (or smallest challenge). Loo is under a lid which makes the cubicle a wet room. There’s a really lovely bag of Arran toiletries with good sized bottles.I’ve skipped breakfast to get one when off, I don’t normally eat it anyway. My nephew is arriving at about 11’ish and we’ll head to the hotel. The Caledonian Sleeper has been an experience, now looking forward to the recording tonight.London already feels very hot.I hope that everyone is doing well. Happy Wednesday to all.13

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Another scorcher in store but they say it will feel less humid thankfully.
I went to bed early as I felt really tired (probably the heat) and then I was inundated with texts and photos telling me our moor was on fire. It's hardly surprising as a month without rain has left it tinder dry. Some of the photos were taken from the other side of the valley and it looked well ablaze. My first thoughts were of all the wildlife and then of the firefighters trying to tackle it in this heat. There is no real road access just a few muck tracks from the farms so they will have a thankless task.
I now feel like a wet rag as I couldn't get back to sleep after all the texts. I haven't had any updates yet this morning. I was going to pop in town this morning as I forgot a few bits off my hurried grocery order yesterday, so I suppose the fire will be the talk of the bus and we will have a good view of some of it.
The hairdresser went a bit wild with her scissors yesterday and it looks shorter than I like but I suppose it will soon grow! And it looks tidier I suppose! Apart from that, getting all my caravan washing dry in record time, watering all the pots and putting my groceries away, not much else got done and I doubt much will get done today either.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and getting better. GERS your rail trip sounds an experience and I hope you enjoy the show. Take care all and stay safe xx

We went to the cinema yesterday one of my people loved it the other one fell asleep he can seriously fall asleep anywhere ! The film was not my type at all but as long as they enjoyed it that’s all that matters.
Off to collect my private client this morning and take him to work, I hope they give us an outside job and not in the greenhouse 🥵🥵 I will nip in on the way home and get some shopping lots of salads I think.

Morning everyone
Lovely blue sky again this morning. Yesterday was lovely - I sat outside from after work until nearly 8pm - alternating reading and listening to a podcast.
I'm not at work today so I'll go down to mam and dads for a cuppa this morning then back out in the garden this afternoon. There's weeds in between the paving stones that need pulled out and I'll read some more of my book. Little one might pay a visit after nursery, I'm not sure yet. I've got my bedding spinning round almost finished so I'll get that outside on the line soon.
Izzy I was the same - my dad worked on the railway so everywhere we went was by train - in the days when you still sat in compartments with sliding doors. We loved it when we got one to ourselves - whenever we stopped at a station we would hope no one would come in.
Well I'd better get on. Hope everyone has a good day today x

Hello all, not much sleep last night again as it was too hot and worrying about DNiece. We had another phone call yesterday and she has now had part of her inner thigh removed, her groin and her belly. They have put her in an induced coma and will reassess whether she needs more surgery on Friday. Her DH is putting a brave face on it as they have an 11 year old DD and DS of 21 who stills lives at home.
This morning we have been to pick up a new power washer, then some more fence paint and finally a small detour to the meat van and boy is it hot, we are now sat in the house in front of the fan and even I'm feeling the heat ! 🥵
We had a surprise windfall of £200 from NW building soc put into the bank this morning, it is much appreciated but we've already spent that on the washer 🙄
Chrisca happy anniversary
Gers I hope you are having a wonderful time
TA that was very scary for you, glad that you've had no more texts.
Take care all, stay cool
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11 -
Nanny, I missed that yesterday, what a terrible thing, I shall keep her in my thoughts and you and her family of course.9
