Dormeo take over

Hey,
My mother ordered a mattress and 2 pillows from Dormeo at the start of the year and soon after was placed in a 24 hour car home due to poor health this was in February, whilst trying to set up FaceTime calling for her on an IPad I noticed a copy of the order as I was unaware she had ordered from Dormeo so I called them to query this and was told they had delivered it to a tin shed on her driveway at the end of march, several weeks before I contacted them.
I attended my mother’s property and there was no delivery so contacted Dormeo once again to verify I have been and checked and nothing was where the delivery has stated.
I was informed a disclaimer was being posted out to the address to be filled in and returned so they can dispute with the delivery company and refund the payment, 2 weeks later nothing arrived and finally a few calls later I had it emailed to myself which was filled out and emailed backed, I then had to email again for a response.
finally they have responded stating that the order was placed before February and is now under new management but trading under Dormeo name so no refund will happen and my mother has to go through her bank for a charge back, is this right can they do that? Weeks and weeks have passed and nobody highlighted that until I sent back what they requested.

Yes, Dormeo went into administration in late February 2023 - another company bought the name but not the liabilities, etc, so there won't be any prospect of a refund from the company that now owns the name and so it will be a case of initiating a chargeback claim via the card company, but this needs to be done within 120 days of the expected delivery date so should be done sooner rather than later.Scrabble6 said:finally they have responded stating that the order was placed before February and is now under new management but trading under Dormeo name so no refund will happen and my mother has to go through her bank for a charge back, is this right can they do that?

Your mother needs to contact her bank quick, as 120 days is nearly over. After that it is tough luck.
This will be one of the cases where it is highly unlikely to be contested as item delivered, as co is no longer trading. As such unlikely administrators will have access to this delivery info, or even care.Life in the slow lane0 -
There should be over a month left (end of March to roughly end of July)born_again said:Your mother needs to contact her bank quick, as 120 days is nearly over. After that it is tough luck.
