It's amazing how many Chalet School fans there are about, I'm a member of a couple of Facebook groups and some of the people on there seem to reread the series every year. I must admit if I had access to them I'd have read the Tyrolean books again before I go but they're in storage with Brian and Laura's surplus things. Val McDermid credits the books with her becoming a writer.6
