Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Dry underfoot, sun making an appearance and very warm already.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy..
Dinner last night was cheeseburgers and chips for the menfolk, and hot dog for me - all needed using up and didn't fancy cooking or eating anything to big or hot. Tonight will be LO roast with pots, veg and gravy.
Work wasn't too bad to start with but then went busy.
Keep safe and well x

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Back with you after my jaunt to the caravan but not read back of happenings in my absence so I hope everyone is ok. I feel to have been missing a lot longer than a week!
It's been a very lazy week. Much sitting out in the sun has been done although the last few days it got it bit too hot at times for that. I read 5 books, watched a couple of dvd's, played lots of cd's and that's about my lot! I have the washing to peg out shortly and then water all the shrivelled up plants at the back. Some look dead already. The bird bath is upturned on the patio with the "birds" adrift so I don't know what has befallen that.
I compiled a very speedy order for delivery today as the fridge is totally bare and some f & v is desperately needed. Managed to get a slot for this afternoon. This morning I have the hairdresser coming and she will be a welcome sight as I look like a wild woman. I just hope she doesn't go too mad as she can do sometimes! Your hair in their hands eh!!
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, getting better or MIA. Take care one and all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9 -

Morning folks.Izzzy - I hope that your boss takes note and helps you more.TA - welcome home.Yesterday I did a small washing load to take advantage of the lovely weather. In the afternoon I had a session with the physio, she took the big massage gun to my shoulders again, sore but so good. My plan was to sit outside for a while but the sun was still blazing hot. ☀️🕶️ After the miserable winter and spring I'm not going to even think about it being too hot. It seems that we are due a thunderstorm this afternoon.Just as the storm is forecasted I'll be heading down to Glasgow in time to catch the Caledonian Sleeper to London. I'm excited about it, and about going to a recording of The Infinite Monkey Cage with my oldest nephew. It's only a short visit as London is probably my least favourite city to spend time in, I'm leaving on Thursday morning.I hope that everyone can enjoy the summer heat. Happy Tuesdayto all.10

Morning everyone and thank you for starting us off nmlc.
It's been very hot here, but no thunderstorms yet.
Yesterday I was invited to a neighbours for a cuppa and we sat outside in the shade chatting. She sent me home with some of her asparagus, which I had for my evening meal and it was lovely.
TA nice to see you back - that's a lot of books to read.
Taff I hope your OH is ok and no lasting effects.
Gers have a great time.
Camelot how nice that she has chosen her dress
Happy Tuesday. xx

Morning all
Another lovely bright day here the nights are a bit unbearable though it’s so hot and stuffy and with my hot flushes it does not make for a good sleep !
Two clients coming today as one is away on respite so we are going to the cinema to see a Spider-Man movie, the one that is away does not like the cinema so it’s a good opportunity to go.
I have tidied round this morning and I will run the hoover round before my guests come, there is a wash on the go too which can be hung on the line.
Dinner tonight will be baked feta which is baked with cherry tomatoes and is delicious with crusty bread, I shall have some veg with mine though, the weight is slowly coming off with this low carb plan it’s just very hard some times 😳
TA nice to see you back xx
Taff I hope your OH is ok and no lasting effects xx
Gers have a great time xx
Camelot how nice that she has chosen her dress that must be a big decision ! Xx
Have good days all and take care xx9 -
Hi everyone,
Sorry to be missing again, sometimes life gets in the way and I don't manage to read through until night-time, usually child related I might add.
Ruby, I hope the cinema is air-conditioned.
TA, it sounds as if you had a lovely peaceful time.
I hope I've not missed any birthdays and such and that all the poorlies are well.
We finally seem to be clear of lurgies (fingers very firmly crossed) and things are settling down o the sleeping and eating front, although the heat is doing it's best to disrupt that again.
We had a couple of days at Chris and Crystal's while they packed to go away and it was lovely to see so much of Nate, he's a very happy baby and will be walking soon, he already keeps us on our toes shuffling himself around on his bottom.
We've booked a holiday, deciding to go away for our anniversary in August. We're not trying Spain again because I think it would be too hot then for lots of train travel so we are going to Austria. We are off to Pertisau which is on Lake Achensee (tautology because see means lake), it's the most beautiful turquoise lake and my favourite place, the inspiration for the setting of my much loved childhood Chalet School books.
Have a good day.10 -
Morning everyone
Lovely blue skies and sunshine again. When I came home from work yesterday afternoon I sat outside for ages and read my Sunday Times.
This morning I've got some admin jobs to do on the laptop - want to get them done so I can sit out again when I come home - and then work at lunchtime. We planted some strawberries yesterday and the children gave them a very good water! Our potatoes are growing really well too.
Snoozer - I loved the Chalet School books too and read them again and again. I didn't own any but our library had them all - I loved other 'school' books like Malory Towers and St Clares but the Chalet School ones were always my favourite.
Gers - enjoy your trip on the sleeper train - I'd love to do that
Redruby - enjoy your cinema trip - it will be cooler in the cinema
Izzy - proof to your boss that they need to try to make your job easier in some way. I wonder what she's going to do when you retire?
TA - it sounds like you've had a perfect week. Did Sparkle behave herself?
Iris - that was a treat. I love asparagus but I haven't had any this year.
Well, better get on. I hope everyone has a good day x11 -
Morning all, the sun is shining and it's hot already. We had our thunder storm yesterday afternoon, all of 2 massive claps and a bit of dribble, wasn't even enough rain for drizzle, so I'm going to have to water my flowers tonight again. The bedding dried super quick though so I've put a towel wash on today.
We had some upsetting news last night about our DNiece who has had emergency major surgery and is in a really poorly condition. She had an abscess which become infected and then she contracted necrotizing fasciitis so they have removed part of her leg and rear end and they hope it hasn't affected any inner organs. She was on a ventilator last night and we are hoping she will pull through 🙏
I have a delivery of a new iron sometime today, oh joy 😄 and later DGD will walk here after school for tea. She's requested her fav pizza with chicken and bacon pasta salad, I'll have normal salad with mine, then I'll do a choc pudding with custard/ice cream for pudding.
TA glad you had a restful time and it's nice to see you back, I missed you.
taff I hope DH is better today, that must have been really scary for you both. Back at you with your busy-ness, pot and kettle come to mind ! Didn't know whether I was coming or going to Costco yesterday 😂
Snoozer glad everyone is free of lurgy now.
Izzy I'm sorry you still have no help.
Take care all, stay safe and cool.
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently10 -
Hi all, thanks nmlcI've had a walk to the Post office earlier and came back past the park. We had some thunder & lightning last night but it didn't last too long but the front gutter still managed to overflow, even though ours and next door have been cleaned. The window bottom in the cellar had some water on it too- not sure how that got in Air fried chicken thighs for tea with salad tonight.Nan sorry to hear about your DN, hope she recovers,it sounds awful.Snoozer glad you're all better, your trip sounds good- I'm another who loved Chalet school books.RR- I saw that Spiderman movie last week with DGS. Well done on sticking to your lowcarb plan- you can do it!Izzy that's a shame you've no help againIris sounds like a good way to spend the afternoon.Gers enjoy your train rideGlad you enjoyed your caravan stay TAEnjoy your afternoon everyone x

Morning! Kind of...Thanks for asking about OH, he's ok now but definitely did not want to drink red wine last night in case it happened again..that's fine by me, I'll have to drink it then...oops? Yesterday I did a bit too much in the heat so today I'm staying indoors after I've wandered round on my garden check..I've persuaded OH to go an look at mattresses because I am fed up of getting up like I've been run over by a bus. I made some Chinese ribs last night [ front door open to make a breeze through the house while the oven was on] so they're there for salads or whatever later on. So a pottering day for me [ see nanny?]Izzy, how disappointing..I hope this tells you how much they need you...TA, welcome back, enjoy the sunshine! Gers, oo, enjoy the train trip! Iris, asparagus! fresh! how lovely! Ruby, between you and snoozer, I get great food inspiration! snoozer, glad the lurgies are fading away, about time! and yes to the chalet books [ and Mallory Towers] dp1 I used to love a Sunday Times, it took so long to read it was worth the price. Nanny, sorry about your niece, how horrendous, hope she pulls through...Take care all, seize the day, or carpe jugulum...Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...8
