Buying financed ipad from eBay?

Hi

i am looking for an ipad and found one on eBay. The seller send me a picture of the spec but I noticed he was financing the ipad from O2.

If he stopped lying the O2 contract, could they block is and I would be left with a useless ipad?

i know I have eBay’s buyer protection but that probably won’t help much if he stops paying in a years time and they block it.

You're probably right to be wary. You'd be better buying elsewhere.

I suspect that O2 will be the owner of the iPad until the final payment has been made. Buying this particular one could be construed as handling stolen property and O2 would have every right to block it until such time as it is either fully paid for or returned to them.

Find another one to purchase that has a clean & unblemished record of ownership.

not stolen it will be a credit agreement with O2 (ie not HP) and thus the owner will.own it not O2 even if they stop.paying

even if the iPad gets barred by O2 you will still be able to use it through wi-fi without any issues.
