Hi all

Got a little problem and wonder if anyone can offer some help?
My employer wants me to install Whasapp on my phone, I am a bit nervous about this and frankly, I really dont want my other half to see I have this, and she has my work mobile no in here phone and she has Whatsapp, it is a sensitive subject....so, is there any way to install Whatsapp, but that she would not automatically see that I have it installed? some sort of way to block certain contacts from even seeing I have it??

Might be a strange request! Sorry

Why does your employer want you to install it? What would your employer do if you didn't have a smartphone?
  • Hi,
buy a cheapo for Whatsapp, or a dual sim phone.

Tell your employer to contact you using Messages.  I think that's on all phones but could be wrong.

We use what'sapp at work through a corporate client so we can comply with data protection rules.

Perhaps your company would consider the same if you suggest it may be a better solution.

We use another secure messaging service to comply with data protection rules also.

I don't believe there's a way to stop someone seeing you have it, I blocked myself (on another number) a while ago and it just showed as a blank profile.

With cuedesk there is no installation.. it's just a website you log in to.

It would probably be easier to get some couple counselling.

  • If your employer is happy to provide you with a phone on which you can install Whatsapp, then no problem.

    Otherwise, ignore their "request"
