@Coupon-mad thanks for responding. Looking at the info, I don't think I qualify for help with court fees due to my husband's income.
If I apply to amend my defence, I am now at a loss to how I amend it. I don't want to give up defending myself but what happens next, do I get taken to court or have to pay the fine plus a load of extra costs?

If you leave this, and do not object nor ask to amend your defence, you must pay ParkingEye because your defence has been kicked out without a hearing.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Ok thanks, I need to look at how to amend my defence - I'm aware in Parking Eye's bundle of evidence that they stated that no additional evidence/defence should be considered over and above what was initially submitted (which of course they would say!).  Will I be liable for any other costs over and above the final fine which was £185 to which they then added another £20 with no explanation.

I mentioned above which form to use to ask for permission (not guaranteed but it's either that or pay in full).

And the forum already gives you the Template Defence.

I already told you above which form to use to ask for permission (not guaranteed but it's either that or pay in full).

And the forum already gives you the Template Defence you should have used all along.
Thanks - yes I am aware that I need to use N244 to ask for permission.
I used the forum threads previously to add in the following to my defence on the forms (inn addition to the defence statement previously written that you have reposted above."I object to the case being heard "on the papers" as it seems to give a disproportionate advantage to a legally represented party (ie Parking Eye), who have a reputation of intimidating and aggresive demands. The claim constitutes an abuse of process in that an unrecoverable sum dressed up as "debt collection costs" has been added. I wish to defend my case in person to be able to explain the extenuating circumstances and counter any misinterpretation by the claimant, which I would not be able to do "on the papers". Additionally, I discovered that the landowners had changed and also GoodtoGo no longer that the contract. I have followed the threads again to find the Defence Template to use, but despite helpful info and reference to it  (Softwaremad and Bargepole) it seems to keep looping back and I can't find it.

The  second post of the NEWBIES thread explains exactly how to deal with a County Court Claim, including a link to the Template Defence.  But no-one really needs a link to it because it's also a top Announcement thread in its own right.

Both pinned at the top of the forum.

What will your actual arguable defence against the PCN be, though?

You may not have a defence?  What happened on the day to cause a PCN?
