How long should an AEG integrated fridge freezer reasonably last? Is 3 years 6 months acceptable?

If situated in an appropriate location (i.e. not in the garage/shed), and used correctly following the manufacturers guidelines, then I would suggest that 3 yr 6 mths is not acceptable.
However, parts do go wrong, so have you had an engineer out to look at it? What is the fault?0 -
Integrated refrigeration has a hard life. It should last longer than that though, but unless you can prove a manufacturing fault there's not a lot you can do about it.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

Normally one day after the warranty runs out ! But realistically a fridge freezer should last 10 years plus. I have a cheap Beko one, and it is 16 years old and still working fine.0

Our integrated Smeg gave up the ghost at 17 years. Replaced it with the latest version of the same model, ie not frost free.
Went for that because there's less to go wrong, plus it doesn't doesn't have the melt/freeze cycles that not only defrosts the build up of ice, but also the frozen food.

If a frost free freezer is defrosting the food then it is not working properly.Silvertabby said:Our integrated Smeg gave up the ghost at 17 years. Replaced it with the latest version of the same model, ie not frost free.

Proves my 'more to go wrong' theory?EssexExile said:
