I had already issued proceedings against the dealer but posted here for opinions and to learn if there was an angle I wasn't seeing. We won the cost of the repair and obviously the court fees. The dealer had offered a refund but refused to collect and the car couldn't be driven so our remedy of repairing locally was judged to be appropriate. The dealer also sent a solicitor to court to represent them so their costs will have escalated. They had also not responded to my initial offer to meet half the repair costs which did not stand in their favour so they ended up paying a huge amount when they could have worked with us.
