Personally would recommend Bosch. Wouldnt recommend Hotpoint or Hoover1 -
I agree with macman above that 1500 or more spin is unnecessary and tough on the bearings. I think the 'sweet spot' for efficiency is 1400rpm.cisko65 said:

I am aware of the sizes I need to have.
I don't do too much washing (small drying tier and space). Items not particularly dirty.
What would be a suitable capacity and speed?
All machines are the same height and width but smaller capacity ones (eg 7Kg) are shallower front to back. This can be useful if there is a lot of pipework behind the machine.1
