This is where hands-on trying things out is crucial.
I had a Pride Go-chair with a base that dismantled a bit like that, and the rest of it coming apart. This type: https://www.eclektrols.co.uk/EclektronicTrols/trols/Pride-Go-Chair-blue/1.jpg
Individually I could lift all the bits at the time - but I really would struggle to now - and putting it together was a huge hassle, it wore me out before I'd even gone anywhere or done anything. So my Mum and I used to lift the base in and out between us; don't get me wrong I was exceedingly grateful to have independence when I went out (instead of needing to be pushed) but it became a barrier to going out if I was up to pootling along but not feeling well enough to help get it in and out of the car.
I had actually tried it, hands-on, and it was the best thing I'd found up to that point, but didn't really consider further ahead as I got more ill. I also kind of didn't have much choice at the time, it was the only suitable thing that had come up in my price range at all. But it was useful to know that considerations about being able to do something repeatedly or on a more difficult day are important.
For some context, the Go-chair fitted in the boot of an old Astra; I don't think it would have gone into a Corsa without putting the seats down. And the lip of the boot makes it more difficult as well, compared with a boot that's flat right out to the edge where you can just sort of slide things in.2 -

Cracked record technique may be needed, but honestly, it's the only way!Signature removed for peace of mind1 -
If you have a CareCo shop around you go & have a look.
Mrs has 2...

Takes to bits & fits in boot. Has suspension which helps.

Just folds up. But it is heavy to get in car, as one piece. No suspension.
You really need to be able to try them out both for the rider & the person that has to put them in the car.Life in the slow lane0 -

The only problem with those is they are so heavy, even when taken apart. It's also a lot of work to take apart and put back together. Even worse when you're in your 80's. Not something i would recommend.

It's a tough juggling act stability on the paths over weight. She tried some real lightweight ones & anything other than a smooth flat surface had her panicking it would tip over.
TBH, in the OP situation. A hoist is a must.Life in the slow lane0 -

Think we've found one:Rascal Veo Sport SR

I do recommend Care Co, they have some excellent fold up scooters online, some that fold themselves with the touch of a button, and they can be pulled along. Care Co also have showrooms, we visited the one in Warrington and the staff were excellent, they also have videos online of the products they sell.1 -
My husband has had an eFoldi for almost 5 years. It's 3 wheeled scooter that folds to the size of a medium suitcase. It weighs 17kg including the battery and I (5ft tall and 9 stone female) can lift it in and out of the boot of our car.
We recently travelled with the scooter for the first time, checking it into the hold of the aircraft at the gate and used it every day on a holiday at Lake Garda.
We have the version now called the "Explorer" which is still available, but an eFoldi Lite has also been introduced since we purchased. eFoldi have agents around the country who can arrange a test drive at home for you.

https://efoldi.com/I REALLY don't like three wheeled scooters - they can (and do) trip over themselves when turning in a tight circle !!The one that I would look at (if money was no object) is the 4 wheeled VelumiLi which has Lightweight lithium battery weighing just 4kg !!I "test drove" one a few weeks ago and was impressed with the comfort, grip and weight (it comes apart and the heaviest bit is 10kg)https://www.lifestyleandmobility.co.uk/product/velumili-rascal-scooter/
If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.1 -
