Entering wrong lane or one way lane

Hi All
i had an incident today wherein I entered a wrong side in error due to google map. I saw the cars in front and slowed down and realised it and turned around and went the correct way. It was a 50 speed limit area. There was no collusion or police officers etc. The cars horned and all and it was embarrassing. I have not seen any cameras etc. However, I am worried if I can get any notification later if other motorists reported me ?

Since we specialise in private parking charges here on MSE, if you do get a penalty notice you would be better taking this over to our friends on pepipoo.com as they are the council and police motoring experts.
You will need to register on pepipoo with a non-hotmail email address then read the FAQs before posting both sides of your PCN with your query.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

No you will be fine.

It's almost impossible to get a fine as a result of random people reporting your driving!
Relax.
We've all taken a wrong turn. In Warwick when doing yet another Uni open day visit on a hot day a few years ago, my SatNav said "Turn Right" so I turned right (prematurely as it turned out).
What looked like a nice wide road was in fact a one-way Motorway exit slip road and I was about to drive me and my son UP towards several cars that were flying down towards me.
Eek!
Must have been a bit stressed and tired and the car (and having a SatNav) was new for me, so at that time I wasn't used to the way they tell you in advance of upcoming turns.
Still remember it with a shiver. Managed to quickly turn round like you did.
P.S. I am a good 'woman driver' really...!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks for that. Good to know I am not the only one. That was a nightmare though and I understand what you may have gone through as well. Stay safe.Coupon-mad said:It's almost impossible to get a fine as a result of random people reporting your driving!

In our little town the police station is on a one way street people regularly drive the wrong way down, the signage at the end isn't very good to be honest The local police boy I believe he is 15, just stops them and helps them to turn round, but the traffic warden comes twice a week but he won't tell us which days. Depends how motivated the witnesses are - plenty of drivers have been fined for offences such as using their phone while driving based on evidence from the public e.g. Cycling Mikey on Twitter.Coupon-mad said:It's almost impossible to get a fine as a result of random people reporting your driving!
But in the OP's case I would doubt anybody is going to be bothered.1 -
Highly unlikely to go anywhere. We all make mistakes. But please make sure your own observations of road signage and restrictions trumps anything that your SatNav may say.2
