Unusual issue with LV= website
I am having an unusual situation with LV=, trying to get my car insured. Just LV=, all the other companies I've tried have been fine.
After entering all my details and clicking the "Get quote" button I have been getting the message "Sorry we can’t insure you…" with no details given.
However.... if I enter a different vehicle registration and click the "This car hasn’t been bought yet" box it will give me a quote without any bother. I can then add my own car on and it will give me a quote for both together! But if I then delete the other car it will once again bring up the "Sorry we can’t insure you…" message.
To me this seems to suggest that perhaps something is wrong with my DVLA record, but my V5 seems to be in order, my name and address are both 100% correct, and as I said other companies seem to have no problem giving me a quote.

If the real car is something exotic and the fictitious car more regular, it is possible that the real car simply does not match the LV profile of business growth required.
If there is a reluctance for LV to quote, why not just go with another insurer?0 -
The real car is a humble Toyota Aygo, 5 years old, and the other car was a Kia Rio which belongs to a family member. I am over 30 with 9 years NCD and zero claims or convictions.
I was particularly keen to get a price from LV as they were recommended to me as being willing to accommodate older drivers, unlike my current insurers, and I wanted to list a family member as a named driver.0 -
