Land Registry: Title Register

Does anyone know please how up-to-date the online Title Register records at the Land Registry are? To clarify, if a change of ownership has been notified to them is there a long delay between the Land Registry changing the Title Register them updating their online records - or is there no delay and it's all done at the same time?

Also, if they have been notified of a change of ownership but they haven't dealt with it can the property still be sold or do they have to have updated the Title Register first?

You'll probably get more useful advice if you explained why you're asking.

If a sale or mortgage is dependent on LR being updated, you can usually apply to LR for your case to be expedited which should ensure that it is dealt with quickly.

Long thread here, where you can see people had similar issues: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5685941/land-registry-questions#latest

It's not immediate. During lockdown timeframes escalated to several (6? 9? )months. Much quicker now. Also depends of course if it's a 1st registration, or there's some query or error or complexity regarding the application.

As silvercar says, the new owner who's selling can request it be expedited which can be done in days.
