ECP DCB County court claim defence keying error

Hi - advice appreciated if anybody has a moment. I received a ticket from euro car parks. I'd paid, but it turned out I'd cocked up entering my reg details. euro accepted I'd paid, but said they still wanted to charge me a £20 admin fee. Feeling gung ho I thought I'd appeal this with Popla as I couldn't see anything on the parking signage that suggested I'd be charged an admin fee. Sadly, Popla disagreed and turned down the appeal. I mistakenly assumed I'd get a letter from euro reminding me to pay if the appeal went against me. But no, I just got a letter demanding £170 from Debt Recovery Plus. It says if I don't pay this things will escalate and I could end up in court for breaking contract law and be liable for a bigger fine. I'd like to know a) can you really end up in court for making a mistake when keying in your reg number even though you've paid for the service provided? b) If I want to have my day in court am I liable to end up owing lots more money c) should I just grit my teeth and pay. Really cross about this as you can tell. Thanks for any help the board can provide.

Just ignore them. There will be no court claim.

After lots of letters from various solicitors, I have finally received a letter from HM Courts & Tribunals Services.
My error was not keying in my registration correctly.
I intend to defend the case.
Are there any particularly good "defence" dos and dont's threads on the forum that anybody would recommend for this circumstance?
It seems DCB Legal is the solicitor making the claim on behalf of Euro Car Parks
Thank you very much

Read the recent defence seen in other threads to paragraphs 2 & 3 of the template defence by coupon mad
Alter the date to suit
Post the issue date on that claim form, plus the AOS date and a redacted picture of the POC too, after hiding the vrm details first
Alter the thread title to something more suitable like
ECP DCB Legal court claim1 -
Show us the POC (as you see everyone else does in every exact same DCB Legal claim thread). Tell us the Date of issue.
Read other threads.
The entire defence is written for you except ONE SENTENCE in para 2 & ONE DATE to change in the new recommended para 3.
I'm not repeating it here, nor linking it because you just need to scroll down and read a couple of threads.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you very much. I have sent my acknowledgement of service via the moneyclaim website. The issue date was 17 Dec, so by my calculations, I need to send in my full defence by 19th Jan. I'll post it here.
Has anybody ever tried a Human Rights claim for "timely access to justice" against these people? I would have defended this in court from the get-go, but never had the option because there is no process to respond to the many solicitors' letters I've been receiving over the past two years other than to ignore them or pay the charge.0 -

2. This is beyond the scope of a parking forum! You are defending it in court,1
