    Short answer is, none. NO kind of free standing electrical heater is going to be efficient, storage heaters are not efficient, and they are your best bet.

    You are confusing 'efficient' with 'effective'. And the situations where storage heating is an effective solution are few and far.

    If the op is not at home during the day and regularly goes out during the evening then they are as well using regular heaters. Very few people have the supernatural ability to commune with the weather gods to make storage heating worth while.

    Highly recommend an electric underblanket I am toasty overnight for pennies; have been known to get dressed sat on the bed with the duvet round my shoulders rather than heat the entire flat.
