Talcum powder claim

Does anyone know how to make a claim yourself regarding ovarian cancer and the use of talc. If you sign up thru a company you hardly end up with anything once all the solicitors have taken a chunk.  Is there a wY to do it yourself?

Research hasn't found any statistical relationship between talc and the development of ovarian cancer.

Much like most cancers, lots of things MAY increase the risk but can you prove that it was that particular thing caused it?

This is a personal injury claim, any solicitor would be capped at 25% plus potentially a couple of disbursements like ATE insurance
  • They are asking for 40% for them and 20% for someone else. Not sure if its something you can do without a solicitor

To do it yourself I would think you'll need a 6 figure sum to cover the cost of experts and your legal team.
I doubt a no win no fee solicitor would take this on.

Not sure who "they" are but conditional funding for personal injury is highly protected by law.

As long as you have your consultant report explicitly stating that the tumour was caused by talc and you can prove you've only ever bought one company's talc or only bought multiple brands from a single shop then a claim is not that difficult. There will always be the argument that a solicitor can better argue your losses and so get you more monies but 90% of it is really from the medical report and any consultant used to writing reports will ensure that they include a load of stuff about how your life has been reduced to nothing for the X years of treatment.
