Multipoint PVC door lock sticking

We have fairly old PVC doors that are 3 multipoint (3 points). I had the locks replaced a few years ago to Ultions but the multipoint mechanism is the same and is a lot older.
It's been fine up until recently. Sometimes after unlocking you can't then close the door. It seems to be the multipoint parts aren't always retracting fully back int the door. The fix is easy you just lift the handle up and down again and it's usually then okay.
I am assuming this is the sort of thing that will get worse over time and I want to avoid not being able to close the door. Before I get a locksmith in I thought I'd check here.
  1. Is there anything I can try myself before getting a locksmith in? E.g. lubrication
  2. What would you expect to pay a locksmith to replace the multipart point only? I am assuming this is possible and we do not need a new door or locks.
Thanks.

you could try spraying a bit of grease into the moving parts. Operate the door several times after to get the grease moving.

If that doesn't work, you can change the mechanism yourself probably. It should just be a few screws holding it in place. Take it to your local Upvc window / door manufacturer and they'll sort you out with a suitable replacement
