Online Banking App

I’ve been trying to register to an app online which is the bank I have been with for years. I went through all the steps 3 times but no there is a problem with my video. Have to go right back to beginning and doesn’t let you back where you got to.  It’s such a faff.  I only want to pay a cheque in and everyone says how easy it is.  If I try another way I have to go to a branch anyway.  Try finding one now.  It’s not easy to get into town all the time. It’s infuriating.  Either bring back branches or make it easy to work and do.  I did everything it asked for. ???

    Which bank's app are you trying to install and on what device?  Do you already use their online banking?  What do you mean by "a problem with my video", i.e. what are you actually doing that involves video and what's the problem you encounter?

    Hi yes I am just trying to register for Barclays app.  I downloaded it fine, my device is an iPhone 6s.  I have not had digital banking before but I now have Monzo which was easy to sign up with ID video  but they don’t seem to let you pay in a cheque, just comes up with must post.   I’ve done all the steps Barclays asked including video and redid but still says a problem with video while checking ID.

    I had exactly this using the Barclays app on an iPad. I got stuck in a loop where I'd do the ID stuff then get a text that said that there was something wrong with the ID without any explanation. In the app there was no way to choose a different ID or to ask for help so the only option was to do the same ID again and get the same result. I even emailed the CEO's office who got one of the technical bods to engage with me to no avail. More out of desperation than hope I tried registering on their website rather than on the app and it succeeded. So I'd suggest trying that.

    You can only pay in cheques by post with Monzo, but Starling are very similar and let you pay in via the app (up to £1000)

    The apps for the high street banks often seem like they have been bodged in to the banks systems and never work as smoothly as the modern app only banks.

    Ok tried via website and no that doesn’t work either.  Input all necessary details as asked but flags up red error code with ‘there is a problem’.  There shouldn’t be, why?  Looks like I’m going to have to go in branch anyway.  Hopefully someone there can explain it to me as I’m not getting anywhere.

    Tried again in case their system was playing up but no today even through website trying to register just comes up with error codes.  I checked all my info was correct and field’s completed. ??

    Could it be because you're already registered? What happens if you go to the login page and fill in the form on the page after clicking, "Don't know your membership number?"?

    Tried tried all that. Comes up error code 1153 and says passcode must comprise of digits only.  Well I only have a numeral keypad to use or does 0 not count as a digit? Maybe that’s it.
