Hi may i ask what is a reasonable price for a mirror will including arranging a trust for a house and some investment? I have been quoted thousands!!!

Why would you want to pay for a trust? There are at least two recent threads here where the existence of a house in trust is causing huge expensive problems, one for the donor, the other for their inheritors.

Who exactly has quoted you "thousands"? Are they regulated by the SRA?

And if the 'trust' is being sold to you as a way to avoid probate, don't have any more to do with the company.

Ask around for recommendations of local solicitors - if you can't get personal recommendations, phone around a few and ask for approximate cost of mirror wills.

Exactly what sort of trust are we talking about here? The fact that you have been quoted thousands suggest that this is not a life interest trust that kicks in on the first death, but a trust that is being set up to hold your current assets, no doubt as some form of protection against care cost and IHT.

Beware that for most people these trust are not suitable and will not achieve the aims the salesman claims they will (Google deprivation of assets and gift with reservation of benefit). Please do not use a will writing company that lures you in with offers of a cheap will then tries to upsell you other services. The main aim of the upselling is not for your benefit, it is to earn them some nice fat fees. See a local solicitor.
