Are there problems with getting a mortgage on these properties?

Rolled zinc sheet is an excellent material for a roof. It is very stable and will last up to 100 years, probably longer than any other roofing material.
However zinc roofs are usually 'flat' roofs and that is the problem.
Flat roofs (very low pitched roofs) are considered non-standard construction by most mortgage lenders.
You can't assume you will get a mortgage on a flat roofed property. The terms, or whether you get one at all, will depend both on the lender's policy and the specific assessment by their surveyor. Even if you succeed in getting a mortgage, when you wish to sell and move on potential buyers will be wary of the flat roof.1
