Just to repeat the advice given by Whizzywoo.
As she will receive the disability element of PC (due to DL PIP, living alone, and no one claims CA for her), her PC allowance is £278 pw. Her SP will be topped up to this amount.
Getting PC will automatically entitle her to full HB and CT reduction. She should liaise with her local council to ensure this is put in place.
As noted there are huge delays for the DWP to process Pension and Pension Credit claims, so apply early (her ESA will stop at SPA regardless), and be ready to contact the MP if the DWP make a complete mess of it.Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.2 -
Thank you so much everyone who took the time to reply. We went through the benefit checker and it looks like she will receive everything you've suggested, full SP, pension credit, and full HB and CTR, as well as the PIP. Her mind is put at rest, and mine on her behalf (it's horrid to see a friend in such an anxious state).
Thank you for pointing us in the right direction for the pension forecast, and benefit checker too. And for the advice re claiming PC, we'll have a look into that tomorrow.*not actually psychic3 -

If if she needs spectacles she can get help with the cost. How much you get depends on the prescription. Even if she weren’t eligible for Pension Credit she can still get help on the grounds of low income.I don’t get PC but I got £139 towards the cost of varifocals which can be very expensive. She can also get help with dental treatment if she can find an NHS dentist.
Details of how to apply are on the NHS website.1
