    Yes it is correct but you really need to do it within 19 days to be comfortable that the Claimant can't go for default judgment.

    So basically, if you don't file an AoS you only have 14 days from claim issue date. But if you do file and AoS, regardless of when you do that, you have 28 days from claim issue date.

    So, as long as you're inside 28 days from claim issue date, you're good (and you've triggered the AoS). Is that correct?
    Not quite right, but your conclusion errs on the safe side.

    It says on the back of your Claim Form...

    The last sentence there explains that you have an extra five days.

    So, if you file an Acknowledgment of Service after five days from the Issue Date, you then have thirty-three days from the Issue Date to file a Defence.
