PAC switch failure from GiffGaff to iD mobile

Hi all,
On Saturday (3rd June) I requested a PAC switch from GiffGaff to iD Mobile, to be completed today (5th June), and I received a text confirming that the 5th would be the switch date. However, the switch hasn't been completed, and I am now being told that it will happen by 6pm on the 7th June.
Are there any guarantees/expectations on whether a PAC switch should be completed on the requested/accepted date, as there is with the current account switch service? I couldn't find anything on OFCOM's website specifically stating as such.
Thanks in advance!

PAC codes happen the next working day after you give it to your new provider.https://kenstechtips.com/index.php/pac-codes-how-to-transfer-your-mobile-number-when-switching-networks - "Phone number transfers normally take place on the next working day after you submit your PAC Code (or two working days if you submit the PAC Code late in the afternoon or evening). You’ll need to submit your PAC Code before the daily cut-off time (between 3pm and 5.30pm depending on your network). If the PAC Code is submitted after the daily cut-off time, you’ll need to wait an extra working day for the transfer to take placeAs you submitted it on Saturday it will take one full day and then the next working day to complete, hence Tuesday.0

No guarantees AFAIK, only usual completion times
Ofcom info on number porting may give some guidance;

At present do you have any service?
To be honest giving a pac to a new provider on Saturday I wouldn't expect the port to go through on a Monday.

Hi all, thanks for the responses. I understand that there could be a one working day wait, but the message did specifically state that the switch would complete today, and there was an hour or so this morning in which I didn't have service (when I thought the switch was taking place).
I'm not sure there is much I can do (especially as there doesn't appear to be a guarantee), it's just quite inconvenient when going to the office and all.0 -

This is where dual sim is handy, you should lose service altogether on your old sim and then there should be a brief period when your new sim loses service while your old number is routed to it.0
