We should see E7 price cap / SVR rates for July very soon - just wondering if anyone has been notified of these yet and of so what they are?

If not, perhaps you could bookmark this thread and post any E7 rate information here when you do get it? I suspect this will be aof fairly wide interest as the E7 rates have become quite unpredictable recently.

Thanks, Mike

A quick side by side comparison (annoyingly in slightly different size/formatting by EDF) between the April and July rates.

Looks like night rates have for the most  part been maintained at previous levels, with day rights dropping a little across the board.

I may be in for a switch depending on what Octopus come out with, doesn't seem to be any word from them just yet though.
    Moo…

Given the SR rates have dropped c3p, and e7 day rates almost double at c6p - not sure I'd call that a little.

The CI forecasts were much smaller drops for electric than gas - c10% July, but increasing in Q4 and Q1 - by about 1.2p cf July lows.

Gas users the big winner - in Q4 CI were forecasting 6.8p iirc - but that again rises in Q1 24.

So overall their cap drops in Q4, but increases again in Q1 - to not far below their Q3 July estimate.

Arguably looks like EDF may again be targetting the likely higher balance of day units during summer months.

Just as their January rates seemed to aggressively target night off peak in many regions.

Not brilliant for those wanting to charge batteries overnight etc.

But for many - suspect over summer - might produce a smaller bill - e.g. those using more peak day than off peak night - as I suspect many with E7 for NSH over winter could be at this time of year.

Thanks, that should save me £5 a month. Could have been much worse, I guess.

The good news (for some of us anyway) is that the low off-peak rate for the eastern region has been maintained. Lets hope it stays that way come next winter otherwise some serious reduction in heating will be required. Thankfully our last child will no longer be an infant by then so the need for consistently warm temperatures will be reduced. (by warm I meant about 18c) - not 24c which most people seem to think infants need!

Still cheaper than Octopus for us.  This change isn't going to make any significant difference, as the only price that's changed significantly is the peak rate dropping by 6.45p.   The off-peak rate has dropped by a staggering 0.01p . . .

As we barely use peak rate electricity (last year only 1.3% of of usage was at the peak rate), and the off-peak reduction is just 0.07% any difference this new tariff will make is negligible.
