Circumstances -

Claimant moved address after last assessment period.
UC informed, new tenancy supplied and feedback provided was hosting costs have been confirmed and verified. 

However the statement which arrived a few days ago now doesn't include any housing element or costs only the standard rate.

Obviously they will make contact with UC but why would this be after they had confirmed and verified the housing proof?

Now have a suicidal vulnerable person which is now worried sick and can't do anything about it until tomorrow!

There's nothing that can be done until tomorrow. Sounds just like an error on their part and should be easily rectified once they ring up. They could leave a message on their journal under payments and their case manager will see this tomorrow but still likely to be quicker to ring.

If housing is verified after the end of assessment where the statement has already been issued, then the statement won't include the housing.

So for example if the assessment period was 1st May to 31st of May, the person moved address on 28th May and the housing was not verified until 2nd June.  When the housing is verified it does not automatically generate new statement with housing. A retrospective underpayment action is required by the UC service centre, so they can pay the additional amount including housing.

Using dates above 1st to 31st May, if they did not move to new address until say 2nd June, then the housing will not be included on a statement until the statement for 1st to 30th June is issued. If they cannot wait until UC payment is issued around 6th July, they could phone 0800 328 5644 to ask about advance.

Friend should stop panicking and send a journal message asking when housing will be paid with statement.
