Carousel pill dispenser

Options
Does anyone have any experience of using a carousel pill dispenser?
My dad has one, but practically every other week my mum is phoning me to tell me it's not working properly and I have to phone the pharmacy to come and sort it out. I don't know if it's a faulty unit or if my dad's been heavy handed with it or if my mum's been messing around with it.
It's usually an issue with the battery.
I don't live near enough to check it and it's usually evenings and weekends when it goes wrong
Has anyone else had similar problems?

    What type, make/model, is it?
The batteries usually last a long time, eg. if it's a rechargeable one then the batteries usually last for about a year when fully charged.
From what you say then I do wonder who is refilling it and if they are doing things correctly?
Have you spoken to the pharmacy about what they are finding when they go out to 'fix' it?
If they are getting it working again each time then they should be able to tell you whether the issue is human or mechanical, and if you need to replace the device.
