Can I ignore CCJ from 5 years ago?

Hi all,
This is a follow up to my post from 6 (!) years ago: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5630178/excel-pcn-questions-about-appeal-wrong-ntk-details
Summary:
- April 2017: I got a PCN from Excel Parking, I appealed and the appeal was obviously rejected.
- January 2018: I changed address, but I cannot remember if I did notify them about my new address. I notified DVLA of my new address but I cannot recall when.
- May 2023: Fast-forward 5 years later, I had completely forgotten about this and I assumed they dropped it, until I got a "Notice of debt recovery - Unpaid CCJ £185" letter from DCBL a week ago. They state I have 14 days to pay or call them to discuss repayment. It says this case is not subject to High Court or bailiff action. I went online and there is indeed a CCJ on my name from CCBC from April 2018, which obviously they won since I never received any court papers (I assume they were sent to my old address), so I lost by default judgement.

I think @Grizebeck will say that if this is under £600, nothing will happen. Just letters.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

"train ticket costs"?
If there were to be any hearing, it would be at your local County Court.5 -

I didn't know that but still, my point is that I will end up being out of pocket, even if I win the case. Since it's only 10 months left, would it be wise to just ignore them?

Unless you need to apply for any credit within the next 10 months, just do as Grizebeck has stated. You've lasted this long without even knowing about a 5-year-old CCJ which probably means you have not had to apply for any credit in that period. If, for example, you have a mobile phone contract, I assume you have had the same contract for longer than 4 years and 10 months.3

I checked and I did have some credit checks last year, but apparently they were successful even with the CCJ on my record.I just got a new letter from DCBL today which reminded me I had forgotten to respond in this thread!Thank everyone, I guess I will just ignore them then.0

"NOTICE OF INTENDED ENFORCEMENT ACTION - UNPAID COUNTY COURT JUDGEMENT £185.00"It says they have recomended to their client to begin enforcement action against me. Is this just a thread, or there is a chance they'll take me to court again?0 -
