    Please stop over-thinking this.
If you are asked in a formal capacity what the car is worth, simply state what you are paying for it

when i bought my new car at the end of 2021, i was getting quotes after purchase but before delivery (4 days), i didn't have the reg at that time as it takes a few days so used car details for trim etc. When i got the reg and added it to the policy i was going to take they added £100! I called them and asked why, as the reg is an identifier and nothing to do with risk, they said "it's what the computer quoted, can't do anything". I went with someone else.

There are always a thousand and one possibilities but most likely three...

    1) You selected a different trim level than had been registered with the DVLA

    2) The quote was recalculated on "todays" rates and they may have changed from a few days ago and/or you are now closer to inception and more of a "distress buyer" so have higher prices

    3) Registration plate is used in their pricing sensitivity analysis and yours happened to move you into a price loading

Bingo. Somewhere on the paperwork it'll give you a total on the road (OTR) price, which is the money that is being given to the dealershop. Use that figure.

I have ɓeen told the figure on confirmation of registration document is auto populated by DVLA website.

It's not equal to OTR price,  it's not even Vehicle price!

I'm accepting whatever it is. 😌
