National Tyres won’t amend my service history!

This is a big of a long one, but I’ll give you the condensed version lol!
So I had a service and MOT with National Tyres/Halfords in Nov 2022. (They also damaged my car during said MOT, but that’s a different story!). I didn’t notice until I started to plan to sell my car a couple of months ago that they never stamped my service book & unfortunately the branch I visited has since closed down.

Not only did they not stamp my service book, they also put my mileage as 3,000 miles higher than is on the MOT, which was done the same day. The car hasn’t even done the mileage stated on the invoice.
and so ensued a long battle to try get them to fix this. Over a month I waited for an email, with another invoice attached saying to take the records to a dealership & they’ll change it for me. As expected, when I did this, the dealership may have well have laughed in my face as they can’t change it if they didn’t do the service!
I’ve since gone back to NT/Halfords but to no avail, they just keep passing the book.
Is there anything that can be done? I’m now paying 2 lots of car insurance (and as a young, recently passed driver, it’s not cheap!) and I also know that this will decrease the sale price for my car!

Why are you paying 2 lots of car insurance - surely thats irrelevant?
Halfords should be able to send you an invoice which they appear to have sent you. This is all the service history you need, you don't necessarily need it stamped in the book. Write the service in the book yourself if you want - you have proof it was done on the invoice.
Regarding the mileage, I doubt anyone will change it now. The only thing I can think you do is explain the situation to the buyer. Alternatively drive 3000 miles to make up for it? Once the car has exceeded that mileage I doubt anyone will ever pick it up. 3000 miles isn't alot!

A lot of cars these days don’t come with service books which are easily altered/forged. ( look on an auction site for main dealer service stamps for any make you want and stamp away). The service invoices are more important to prove a car has been serviced.

They used to amend service records but stopped in January, it’s not that they can’t anymore, it’s more that they’re unwilling to which is annoying as I don’t want it to be a reason for a buyer to try knock the price down.0 -
How old is the car? Unless it's only a couple of months old then I cant see that 3k miles is going to have any effect on the value.
Also, the fact that a service was done at any fast fit place would actually put me off of buying it so they've potentially done you a favour by not stamping the book!
