Asda credit card

Has anyone applied for an asda credit card and its been sent for a decision but you never heard back ? I did the eligibility checker first which suggested their 2nd card (higher apr) which was then sent for a decision. The email and website both state you hear back within 7 days. Day 7 I rang and spoke to someone who could only confirm it was still being assessed. I asked if it was because I didn't verify my identity online (I don't drive or have a passport) but was told that just means it takes a little longer, upto 10 days..(I'm not sure why they ask for photo ID as never been asked before for a credit card) It's been 10 days and still not heard so just wondered if anyone else has experienced the same and if you ever did eventually get a decision. I thought if it was due to not providing ID they may have emailed to chase it up, at which point i could say I don't have it, but I've just been left waiting with absolutely no communication from them 🤷‍♀️

  • I applied for this card in February I had everything all setup in under 10 minutes I wasn’t asked for ID which caused me to worry,
I’m thinking you should call in the morning and ask for update

I'm not on the electoral roll and I applied online and was accepted straight away and the same as above, all set up within 10 minutes and I received the card about 3 days later.

I've never been asked to prove my ID, either with Asda or when I applied for my John Lewis credit card recently. I'd definitely chase it up if you haven't heard anything back by next week latest. Good luck!

I've never been asked for ID to open a credit card, ever. No idea how many cards I've successfully opened but it must be 30ish at this point.

    Nothing to worry about.
