Strimmer wire

How do I know which way my strimmer wire goes?
It's an older Black n Decker, petrol strimmer that I have recently acquired. It's a double wire, so will both wires wrap in the same direction?
Edit, I wound it round clockwise on one way, but it didn't come out when a clicked the ground.
Maybe one wire is sufficient?
