PPI firm threatening CCJ

Years ago I was sent letters to an old address regarding PPI i could be owed. The letters came from TSB. I completed their forms and received a payout of over £5k.
Shortly after this, I started getting emails and letters from a company called UClaim4Me asking for payment as they had arranged my PPI. I had never engaged with this company, and told them as such. They began harassing me and bombarding me with letters and emails. I sent them an email asking to see proof that I had signed to agree to them pursuing PPI and they sent me a picture of an electronic signature that wasn't mine.
I accused them of forging my signature, and I never heard from them again. 4 years later, I started getting emails from a law firm, Waterloo Solutions, who told me that UClaim4Me had gone into administration, and they had taken over the collection of outstanding payment. I went back and forth with them as I had with the previous company, and they just kept asking for payment of £2289. Today, I have received an email telling me of their intention of taking this to court, and that I owe them £3523. I cannot have a CCJ against my name, but I fear myself against a law firm, will not work out in my favor.
The stress of this is making me sick, I feel suicidal tbh because I do not have this money, I am working hard to improve my credit score and I am struggling with the cost of living. I have expressed the fact that I never agreed to work with this company, but feel they have backed me into a corner to enter into a payment plan with them as a way of getting them to leave me alone.

You could try this...Letter when you know nothing about about the debt - AKA "Prove it" letter — MoneySavingExpert Forum
Also what is the date of the "alleged" agreement between yourselves and this company?0 -
Do not agree any plan to make them ago away
Just because you get a claim does not mean you have a ccj
So you should certainly fight this
Law firms are NOT to be feared!
Feel free to upload a redcated picture of the email

Just because they "intend" to take you to court doesn't mean they will, or that they would win.
I'm sure others will have more detailed, specific advice as to next steps, but first and most importantly is to not worry too much about this. Any problem can be solved.1 -
I'm not sure I'm seeing much to do with private parking here. There must be a better sub-forum (debt?) on MSE to advise on this case. We're already swamped with parking-related issues and have drifted well away from the forum's original purpose and now headlong into fighting parking court cases. Mission creep danger alert. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

There's a sub-forum for PPI here:-Banking & Borrowing — MoneySavingExpert Forum

I cannot have a CCJ against my name, but I fear myself against a law firm, will not work out in my favor.A search across MSE reveals a number of previous Waterloo Solutions cases - worth the OP checking them out. One thing's for certain, they aren't a 'law firm', the other thing to mention is that they are seemingly 'in administration'.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. As with any court claim, you have the opportunity to lodge your defence, both sides argument`s are taken into account, not just theirs.
The advice to send the "provit letter" is good, they must provide you with evidence of your liability when asked.
If they can`t do so, then it ends there.
Threats of legal action are very common, it`s a different matter been able to prove your case in court though.
Another point, you mention this was years ago, was it more than 6 years ?
If so, you have a 100% defence against any claim as the debt would be statute barred now.
There is currently an influx of activity from debt collectors chasing up statute barred debts, prior to a change in the law coming in at the end of July, regulations on chasing such debts are to be tightened up to avoid these kind of issues going forward.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. The best thing to do is to make a formal complaint to Waterloo Solutions which if rejected you can then take to the financial Ombudsman, thus avoiding legal action - at least for now.0

UClaim4Me was a Trading name of Waterloo Solutions, so it's actually the same company and not a legal firm at all.( is it derfinitely them, or is it Joseph James Law?) Waterloo Solutions appear to be in administration, so I would suggest as others have said. Do nothing else but complain to the, then to FOS if you need to as you will then have a record, but its highly unlikely that it will go to court
I work in Data Protection and spend my days dealing with CMC's. Only here trying to help!!0
