Still Waiting for British Airways Compensation after 6 Months

So I had two flights booked in early December 2022 where I flew from Newark to London Heathrow then London Heathrow to Manchester (EWR > LHR > MAN).

Due to a clear technical fault (megaphone wasn't working) the flight was delayed departure by over an hour. This meant that I missed my connection and had to wait 8 hours at Heathrow for the next flight to Manchester.

I applied for my compensation through their website compensation page. Then after two months updated it by saying I still don't have an update.

I used to receive emails saying 'sorry about the wait' but now I don't even receive those. I've called customer service and they're absolutely useless saying they cannot investigate etc etc.

I seriously do not understand what is taking so long. Surely, it is a simple a calculation?

These flights were booked directly through BA and both operated by British Airways. For an 8 hour wait they gave me £10. £10 to have two meals in an airport.

I'm very disappointed in them and don't really know what my options are. I've booked two more flights through BA and would have appreciated having the compensation for at least one of them.

Were the flights booked as one through flight or as two separate flights?

If you're not getting any responses from BA then your best bet will probably be to take them to small claims court - I think escalation to their ADR provider CEDR is dependent on getting a final response first and isn't renowned for being quick anyway.

It is really bothersome that a simple financial resolution hasn't been accomplished yet. It's surely a simple calculation.

Booked directly through BA. All flights booked as entire legs.

I wouldn't even know where to begin with small claims court!

The delay won't be due to any calculation difficulty, compensation is a simple fixed tariff!
