Car Insurance Claim

Looking for advice. Dd was involved in a car accident on 23/4 when 3rd party hit her side on. She contacted her insurers -Ticker immediately and they arranged for her car to be taken away that day as it was undriveable. We're now 5.5 weeks down the line and still have no idea whether her car is repairable or written off. Ticker is a broker and her insurance is with Carpenter. We've been told by Carpenter that they cannot assess her car until 3rd party (Halifax) admits liability. Ticker have escalated the.claim with carpenter management 3 times but still no contact. We're going round in circles and in the meantime dd has no transport or timescales.  Can anyone offer advice ?

Ticker are an intermediary not a broker

Carpenters are a solicitors firm specialising in volume accident claims and act as the claims function for Ticker

The insurer is a company based out in Malta. My guess is they have given Ticker a binder.

As to advise, put a complaint in following the process in your policy book. My assumption is that they are hoping to establish liability so they can sell the details to an accident management company for a higher rate than if liability was yet to be established however the policy is comprehensive so you're entitled to claim off your own policy rather than be forced to use credit hire etc.
  • Thanks for your response. Its her 1st year driving and on her own insurance.  She really didn't want to claim on her policy as shes only 18.  They suggested that she put the claim through her details and sort out liability later.  It just really confused me
