Invasive weed or wildflower.
Options
Hello, I cannot stop looking at these in my un-mowed patch of lawn. Can anyone tell me what it is? I have googled it and keep seeing Fox and Cubs but not sure. Invasive weed or wildflower? Either way I do not want to mow it down as it is rather beautiful. When fully open it is a bright orange colour.

It's a weed, but also a wildflower, leave it they have lovely flowers - they are good for insects, etc.1

For some reason google, despite all the supposed spying, cookies, etc, always seems to think anyone searching is based in the US - in parts of which Fox and Cubs is an invasive alien... It can spread a bit if it gets into your borders, but it's exactly the kind of plant no-mow May and the like is all about!

I transplanted some from the back garden to the front precisely because I think it's pretty and it's a ground coverer. You just pull it up from any bits you don't want it to go in, the roots are fairly shallow.

Not invasive. It seeds around effectively but as previous poster has said it is easy to remove. It has got a distinctively hairy looking rosette base so quite easy to ID when young. I love them 😊

After all, some info and language is applicable worldwide and some is highly specific. Dreaming you went shopping in your 'pants' wouldn't create much comment, Stateside.Having said that, the country that gave us Skunk Cabbage has a nerve calling Fox & Cubs'invasive!'"There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country."
