Hi All
I was wondering if anyone can help. I have about 5-6 google accounts and my main account is full. When i try to export the calendar it creates a .zip file which, when extracted creates a file with all characters & what not & is has a large file name. So even the next Google calendar account won't accept that file i want to import.
Does anyone know how to reduce a file name size ???? Maybe if i am able to shorten the file name size, i might be able to also use it elsewhere ??? like in .PDF, .JPG etc etc coz this file cannot even be attached to an email.
I thank you all.
Kind regards
AK

Removing stuff from your calendar doesn't AFAIK affect the fullness of your account. Even if you completely purge it your account will be full.Need to remove some emails.Re: calendar, its supposed to contain all your apopintments in ICS format which you then import one by one back into Google Calendar. if you don't get a bunch of ICS files in a ZIP file you're doing something wrong. https://support.google.com/calendar/answer/37111?hl=en#zippy=,feed-processing-error might be of interest.I suspect you may be doing this instead:Can rename files in Windows Explorer by selecting the file and pressing F2.

Yeahhh...i understand all that, thank you lots, but when exporting a calendar, a zip file is created and by extracting the zip folder there are are 3 files and an .ICS file is created which is so so long with many many characters not normally allowed to be used in any new file you name. It wont allow me to move , cut, copy, rename that file at all.. Is there a way online to shorten the names of files ????
many thanks

As I said, you can rename files in Explorer by selecting and pressing F2.If there are illegal characters in the filename just wipe the whole filename and replace it with "fred" or something. You won't be able to do anything with it until you make it "legal".0

as a test / reference I just tried a Google calendar export ( in Google Chrome on a PC)
For me the zip file contains just one big ICS file
The ICS filename is my_email_address@gmail.com.ics - so quite short and meaningful
The file looks ok because clicking on that file opens up the default MS calendar app asking which calendar I want to add the
events too and below that a long list of all the events0
