Transpennine Express Airport advance train ticket from Manchester Airport

For general information, if anyone was interested. I was just about to buy one of these tickets as the blurb on the airport and trainline website infers that if you are delayed and miss your train, you can get the next TPE (& connection) for up to 3 hours so long as you get your ticket validated at the airport. On the TPE website it states that a minimum of one hour is required from "terminal" to train. From TPE whatsapp chat, this was advised as one hour from plane landing, so I guess it makes it slightly less fraught if you are sat on the runway waiting for a bus.

So many potential issues with what you have stated it’s not much comfort to anyone.TPE is a basket case of an operator so chances are any service is likely to be cancelled.0

In reality I've twice had a delayed plane and they've just accepted that on presentation of ticket.1

I finally got confirmation from TPE that the train trip needed to be at least 60mins from plane scheduled arrival, not actual which makes more sense.
I have no idea how TPE get any trains away given the incompetence of their backroom staff. They don't have a clue.0
